Stouts

Amundsen – Super Santa

All the way from Norway, this is the most chocolately beer I have tasted, like it doesnt even taste of beer at all. . . its just like liquid chocolate in a can. Very, very nice. If you are into sweet beers, it will not disappoint.

Brew York – BA Cherry Tonkoko

Wow, this is a super interesting beer. Really complex. Its a Cherry infused version of the standard Tonkoko, so it retains all the coconut and chocolatiness of the original, but with a nice addition of cherries. But where the magic really happens is the fact it has been aged for 12 months in French burgundy wine casks. This really comes through! Its thick, strong, super tasty and a real beer to savour! It took me over an hour to drink.

Its the first in Brew Yorks new “State of Mind” series, and I cant wait to taste the next.

ABV – 9.5%

Wild Weather – Dude Wheres My Donut?

This is a very unique one. . . a chocolate covered, custard donut white stout. Yes you read that right. . . a white stout!

OK, so looks wise, its very much like a DDH or NEIPA, hazy and kid of thick yellowy.

It tastes initially sweet, and I can definately taste a custardy, vanilla type flavour, but the chocolate isnt coming through. Also it has a super bitter after taste, which for me balances it nicely. All in all a nice treat.
