Stouts

Brew York – Fairytale of Brewyork 2020

Peanut, Pecan, Maple and Vanilla milk stout. I was expecting total overpower by the maple, given a recent maple and pecan beer I tried. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Its predominantly nuttiness you can taste. And its nice! Sweet, Generally superb beer.

Titanic – Stout

Wow, thats an interesting flavour. Its very kind of smokey, strong flavoured and bitter, not a particularly nice flavour if I am honest. They promise this is a traditional stout, brewed the old fashioned way, and maybe thats why. . . Not really for me, but not the worst I have had.

Unbarred – Bueno Shake

To quote the can “A Milk Stout with Chocolate and Hazelnut, that’s Kinda Bueno”.

It delivers. A really nice, sweet lovely beer that tastes as near as damnit to Kinder Bueno or Ferrero Rocher in liquid form as you will get. Superb!

Top Rope – Imperial Canadian Destroyer

Maple Pecan Imperial Stout. Wow, the smell alone is awesome, it literally does what it says on the tine, well kinda. The Maple shines through, and is quite overpowering, cant say particularly that you can taste the pecan. . . Its a strong, tasty, sweet treat. Lovely beer.

Brew York – HYG

Peanut, Caramel and marshmallow milk stout. Wow, super sweet and a bit sickly, whilst still tasting super strong and gives that reassuring slight burn on the back of the throat on the way down to remind you it is infact beer you are drinking, and not some obscure milkshake! It tastes predominantly of the marshmallow / vanilla type flavour to me more than anything, but generally a nice experience.

Amundsen – Christmas Morning

Breakfast waffle stout. Not really sure what to make of this one. Yeah, its nice, its tasty, sweet, but thats about it. Really pleased to have tried it, but after the Super Santa, its a bit of a let down.

Play Brew – Birthday Cake Stout

Supposedly Chocolate and Honeycomb flavoured. Its super sweet, but with a slight bitterness to it, very enjoyable. Doesn’t particularly taste of what its supposed to, but good all the same. . .

Brew York – Tonkoatko

Its like the original but more. .. more of everything! Stronger, more coconut, more chocolate, sweeter, just an all round fuller flavour and seems thicker and creamier. Great pint.
