Bohemia Regent – Premium tmavy lezak 12

Wow, I wasnt expecting this little surprise package. . . When I read traditional Czech Beer, I assumed, rather wrongly. . . Continental beer = lager. . . So I opened it to have with a curry. . . What a mistake, it was pitch black, heavily carbonated, but with a lovely malty, deep flavour, a bit of spiciness going on and a rich chocolatey taste, an absolute beautiful beer. Probably a bit overly carbonated for my liking, but all in all superb.

Albrecht – Morion

Czech style dry stout. This is a nice, full flavoured affair, full of roasted malt flavours and a distinct hop profile. Really good beer.

Avaans – Kveik IPA

A nice hazy little number, citrussy from the hop profile and not mega OTT on the hop front. Not bad at all.

Brouwerij Lekker – Witbier

A pretty standard tasting wheatbeer, not bad, not great. Claims to have coriander and orange peel in it, but I couldn’t detect the faintest hint of either.

Avaans – Belgian Dubbel

This was lovely, all the usual character of a Belgian brown beer, with a distinct chocolatiness, it tasted way richer and stronger than the ABV suggested and was a nice sipping beer, I really savoured it.

ABV – 6%
