Coffee and Walnut cake imperial milk stout.
A nice change, not overly sweet, can really taste a nuttiness and the coffee comes through strong. Smooth. Nice beer.

This is an imperial strength, barrel aged, pecan pie double stout. Its strong in alcohol, but not necessarily taste, IE. it doesn’t seem as alcoholic as the ABV suggests.
The flavour is complex, with a sweetness to it, but definately doesn’t particularly taste of either maple or pecan. The main flavour is the oakiness from the barrel aging process. Not that this is a problem at all, a beautiful beer that demands to be savoured.

Smoked Russian imperial stout.
Interesting one, the smell is mega, just smells like burnt wood! Really wasnt sure about this. First sip was super hard hitting but. . . Surprisingly, it mellows by the second mouthful. A really rich, chocolatey, beautiful beer.

Wow, brewed to commemorate a time when America had a better president and more dignified politics.
This is one of the sweetest, nuttiest and generally lovely beers I have tried. It is designed to taste a little of Baklava, a desert from the middle east which is packed full of walnut and pistachio’s. These flavours really come through. A delightful beer from start to finish. A fine imperial milk stout.

Salted caramel and cacao nibs imperial stout. It is great, strong, sweet and lovely, but not the best I have had. For a similar but nicer flavour profile, try Unbarred – Salted Caramel & Chocolate Donut Stout.

Wow, this is beautiful, rich chocolatey and coffee flavours, softened by the vanilla, and it comes in at a whopping 12%. Doesn’t taste anything like this strong though!

A nice, but super strong imperial stout. Initially smells really sweet, and the first taste is like sweet caramel / chocolatiness, I had a couple of minutes between sips however and the next was super intense. . . Really tasted strong! Really enjoyed it, but I have had nicer stouts with similar taste profiles.

Wow, this is lovely, its a fortified version of the original, and is just all round better, tastier, more chocolatey, more coconutty, smoother. Really nice.

Maple Pecan Imperial Stout. Wow, the smell alone is awesome, it literally does what it says on the tine, well kinda. The Maple shines through, and is quite overpowering, cant say particularly that you can taste the pecan. . . Its a strong, tasty, sweet treat. Lovely beer.

Wow, this is a super interesting beer. Really complex. Its a Cherry infused version of the standard Tonkoko, so it retains all the coconut and chocolatiness of the original, but with a nice addition of cherries. But where the magic really happens is the fact it has been aged for 12 months in French burgundy wine casks. This really comes through! Its thick, strong, super tasty and a real beer to savour! It took me over an hour to drink.
Its the first in Brew Yorks new “State of Mind” series, and I cant wait to taste the next.
