Fierce – Dirty Sanchez

This is an interesting one. Its a Smoked Chipotle Porter.

Now I have tried a number of chilli flavoured beers in the past as I love hot foods, curries etc. and many a time I have been bought the novelty gift packs at Christmas where you get three beers ranging in strength of “hotness”. They’re basically all crap, and provide instant heartburn. That said, I have never wasted a drop, they are perfect for reducing in mince to make a really nice chilli con carne ;-).

Now. . . this is different. . .

First thing that hits you is the smokiness. . . its very savoury in flavour. The chilli kick comes afterwards, but is kind of warming, not too dissimilar to that of a fortified wine, think port / sherry, it makes you feel warm and fuzzy, not heart burny. . .

Sampled From: Can

ABV – 6.5%

Would I recommend it? – Definitely give it a try unless you are a baby belly and cant handle spice.

Would I buy it again? Probably not. . . But great to have tried.

St. Peters – Plum Porter

This is a very drinkable porter, nice and fruity, but not too sweet or sickly. Could easily sink a few of these on the bounce.

Its very tasty and not too heavy.

Sampled from: Bottle

ABV – 5%

Would I recommend it? – Absolutely, give it a shot.

Would I buy it again? – Definitely, and I continue to do so. . . Its not an every week beer, but maybe 3 – 4 times a year, Deffo.

Where do I buy it? – Morrisons tend to stock it, certainly around here.
