Wickwar – Christmas Cracker

A nice warming amber ale, balanced and tasty, but not at all christmassy! Which to be fair is probably not a bad thing. . . I have had some awful Christmas ales over the years, this is nice, just a bit plain.

Felinfoel – Dragon’s Heart

An amber, malty beer, nothing particularly special, but perfectly drinkable. Very similar tasting to Double Dragon, also by the same brewery.

Sampled from: Bottle

ABV – 4.5%

Would I recommend? If you like a standard amber ale, go for it.

Would I buy again? Possibly

Badger Brewery – Fursty Ferret

I have long been a fan of the Badger Brewery, they make fruity and different ales that I am a huge fan of. Fursty Ferret has always been a bit of a go-to. Its amber in colour, and malty in flavour. Nothing exceptional by any means, but a very drinkable beer all the same.

ABV – 4.4%

Would I buy again? Yes

Sharp’s – Doom Bar

What an exceptionally overrated beer. It is practically tasteless, and there is not much more to be said about it, yet a lot of people I know drink this. . . Each to their own, its not for me.

Sampled from: Bottle / Tap

ABV – 4%

Would I recommend? No

Would I buy again? Not unless there is literally nothing else.

Rating: 1/5

Felinfoel – Double Dragon

The national ale of Wales?

Hmmm, must have been dredging the barrel there. I mean theres nothign wrong with it, amber in coulour, quite malty, but nothing special at all. Very average beer.

Sampled from: Bottle

ABV – 4.2%

Would I recommend? If you like a standard amber ale, go for it.

Would I buy again? Possibly

Rating: 3/5
