Northern Monk – Stars & Stripes

Wow, this is incredible. A Peanut Butter & Jelly porter, inspired by our American cousins.

Firstly. . . I genuinely cannot taste the PB&J flavour, but what I can say is its a very nice, fruity porter, with a definate sweetness about it. Its very, very nice.

Sampled from: Can

ABV – 5.9%

Would I recommend? Yes

Would I buy again? Yes

Rating: 5/5

Evil Twin Brewing – Wake up and Smell the Gose

Wow, what an interesting one, so I had to look up what a “gose” is. . . its a Geraman, traditional whitebeer, generally quite sour, and claims to be one of the oldest styles of beer ever produced.

As for this example. . . The first thing that hits you is a super-sweet caramel sort of smell. . . but thats where it ends!

Its quite fruity, and you can taste a saltiness to it, but more than anything it is quite sour.

Honestly, Ive never tasted anything like it and it definately wasnt awful, therefore I am going to have to geive it a solid 3/5!

Sampled from: Can

Country of Origin: USA

ABV – 6.5%

Would I recommend? Yes, definately worth a try

Would I buy again? Yes, for something different

Rating: 3/5

J.W. Lees – Bitter

A pretty standard, run of the mill, mild tasting, matly bitter. Nothing exceptional, and nothing to write home about.

Sampled from: Tap

ABV – 4.0%

Would I recommend? Not particularly

Would I buy again? Only if there is nothing else

Rating: 2/5
